THe Story

The start of our great experiment begins with a book,  a humble 5 gallon carboy and the desire to make excellent California wine.   We are chasing the American dream by making and bottling award winning wines and developing friendships along the way.

With over 40 years of experience in law enforcement, working in California's most dangerous prisons.  And making thousands of visits to wineries all over California, we decided to combine our knowledge of criminal supervision and our love of wine to start Solitary Cellars Wine Company.  Our mission, and we chose to accept it, is to provide our customers with a unique and memorable wine experience.  First, and foremost, is the wine.  We are dedicated to the art of wine making and the use of the natural flavors, tannins and color found in the world famous California grapes.  With the winery located in Lodi, California we have access to the finest fruit from the most pristine and sustainable vineyards on the planet.

We have access to Napa Valley, Sonoma County, Lodi, the Santa Lucia Highlands, Paso Robles, Santa Barbera county and of course, the Central Valley.  We are in a unique position to have access to California's finest varietals, and it's own goal to do so.  At Solitary Cellars, we make our wines from the finest fruit on earth, which produces a deeply complex, rich and tasteful wine.  Our emphasis is on quality.  Quality fruit, quality care and quality wines.

At Solitary Cellars we understand that wine is best enjoyed with great conversation, delicious and interesting foods, but most of all, a meaningful and heartfelt laugh or smile.  We consider our customers friends and partners.  In corrections, your partner is the one person you can count on, the one who has your back.  Like we say behind the wall, "Hey Homie, I have your back".

We encourage you to try a bottle of Solitary Cellars wine, or stop by for a mugshot and a "war story".  We always welcome the opportunity to enjoy a glass of Solitary Cellars wine with our customers.    At Solitary Cellars, we encourage our friends and customers to unlock their lives, but remember to always enjoy the wine without restraints.
